Waist Training is very dependent on the person who is training. Firstly, you need to understand what goals are you looking to achieve by waist training.
Some people are training to:
- Return their body to their pre-baby body after giving birth - Postpartum
- To gain shape of their already fit body - Get that hourglass look
- To reduce body fat from their mid-section
- To get better core and back comfort and control
- A number of other personal reasons
Each of the above carries different needs for different goals. It's important to understand your body and what's needed before you take part in your waist training journey.
As a basic guide however, we will run through the starting basics of how to get started in waist training. This for the most part will give you a great starting reference point for waist training beginners.
1. We advise 2 hours a day when you first begin
2. Gradually build up to around 8 hours a day as a maximum
3. Waist training for 8 hours a day will allow your body to improve to the next trainer size in approx 2-8 weeks. Each person is different and time it takes for moving to the next size down is dependent on a number of factors such as:
- Your aerobic workout routines
- Your food intake (diet)
- Your BMI and body make up
- Ensuring you start with the correct sized waist trainer in the beginning
It's not uncommon for people to have improved quite quickly and moved to the next size down within a couple of weeks - however as stated above this is dependent on a number of things.
OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER
SLEEP - You can sleep in a waist trainer, however it's not the most comfortable experience and if you can do it, why not. Don't be too bothered if you can't, most people choose not to.
WORKING OUT / GYM - You certainly can work-out in your waist training corset and we advise people to as this can be a great benefit to your workout. It's important to note, you should always listen to your body. If there is great discomfort please stop wearing your waist trainer and or reduce your intensity of workout. You need to breathe correctly while working out so don't substitute breathing for wearing a waist trainer - as you will need both to get the best of out of your waist trainer.
CASUAL WEAR - This is probably the easiest time to get hours of waist training under your belt (or moreover - under clothes!). We certainly recommend wearing your waist trainer when in a casual environment. Wearing under your clothes will almost make your corset indistinguishable to the naked eye.
